iPhone App Store: Can it remain “clean”?

CNN has just published this story commenting about the recent string of nude and objectionable content that has appeared on some iPhone applications (http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/07/06/explicit.iphone.apps/index.html) .

Some of the content has been deliberate by the vendor. Those applications were promptly removed from the store once the issues were reported. However, when an application allows users to control and upload the content, policing becomes a much more difficult issue.

The article is an interesting read and highlights some of the challenges we will all be confronting on the social networking front.
